The volleyball team concluded their season at districts in Wynot, finishing with a 10-23 record. With three seniors—Addison James, Makenna James, and Kairece Morris—the team showed resilience throughout a challenging season.
Head Coach Simonsen praised the team’s adaptability, particularly as injuries forced players into new roles. Despite these challenges, the team’s chemistry improved as the season went on, and freshmen made significant contributions at the varsity level. Ball control was a strong point, but consistency remained an area for growth.
While the team struggled to close out matches, Coach Simonsen is confident that offseason dedication will help address this. “Consistency and finishing strong will be key for next year,” she said. The loss of three seniors will open opportunities for younger players to step up, and Coach Simonsen is hopeful about the team’s potential for growth in 2025.
Looking ahead, the focus will be on continuing to improve ball control, hitting, and communication. Offseason preparation will be key to the team’s success next year. Simonsen’s advice to players is to stay involved in volleyball, whether by joining another team or participating in the school’s weightlifting program to build strength. With strong team spirit and commitment, the Panthers are set to build on this year’s lessons and come back stronger next season.
