As the Cross Country season wraps up, it's the perfect time to reflect on the memories and accomplishments of our incredible runners. Here’s a look at some standout personal achievements from this season:
Name | Grade | PR | Place |
---|---|---|---|
Brooklyn Synder | Freshman | 36:38 | Stanton |
Spencer Pickering | Freshman | 27:30 | Districts |
Braxton Parker | Freshman | 23:28 | Stanton |
Hayden Bridges | Freshman | 19:50 | EHC |
Brooklyn Monroy | Sophomore | 23:36 | Stanton |
Reed Tremayne | Sophomore | 22:41 | Stanton |
Drake Porter | Senior | 19:09 | Districts |
As the table suggests, the Stanton meet was the Panther's best meet as a team. Following that, districts also went well for the Panthers.
The Stanton meet was the Panthers’ strongest as a team, with several personal records set, while the Districts meet showcased the team’s continued growth and determination.
Each runner had their own favorite courses this season. Hayden Bridges appreciated the flat terrain of Stanton’s course, while Spencer Pickering enjoyed West Point-Beemer’s course, saying, “Besides the hill, it wasn’t horrible.” Brooklyn Monroy liked Pender’s course, noting she was familiar with its layout.
But beyond PRs and courses, the most meaningful part of Cross Country is the memories made along the way. Senior Drake Porter shared his journey, starting Cross Country to stay in shape for basketball, only to discover a passion for the sport. One of his proudest moments was setting a new PR of 19:09 at Districts. He shared a few mental strategies that helped him improve. Run with the person in front of you, because it pushes you to stay competitive. Also, listen to music while running, it keeps your mind occupied and focused.
Congratulations to all our runners for an amazing season! Your hard work, dedication, and team spirit made this season unforgettable.
