Summer EBT Information
The Bancroft-Rosalie Community School District has received information concerning 2025 Summer EBT. The Nebraska Department of Education, in partnership with the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, will participate in the Summer EBT (SEBT) program to issue $120 in EBT benefits for eligible Pre-K through 12th grade (For B-R: Sixpence through 12th grade) students enrolled in NSLP (National School Lunch Program)-participating schools. The Bancroft-Rosalie Community School participates in the Community Eligibility Provision for our meals program through Nebraska Department of Education Nutrition Services. Students that will qualify for this Summer’s EBT will be those students listed on the district’s Direct Certification list (received from DHHS) along with students that live in the same household as those students listed on the Direct Certification list. Please see the below information for further explanation of how to qualify for Summer EBT, how households will receive the SEBT cards, and an application link for families that may still qualify and who households can contact for questions.
1. How do students who attend Community Eligibility Provision Schools (CEP) qualify for SEBT?
-Students matched for SNAP, TANF, FDPIR, MFREE, MRED;
-Students living with a student matched for SNAP, TANF, FDPIR, MFREE, MRED;
- Students directly certified (matched) for foster, migrant, homeless; and
2. If students at CEP schools do not meet the above eligibility criteria, can they apply for SEBT?
Yes, students not previously identified as eligible may complete the SEBT application which will be available until 08/15/2025 at https://schools.scriptapp.com/#/inbox/to-do?workflowIdForNewSubmission=1864994403f041e0f4a6144b44b1cfa4a2a57618d7 . These applications are subject to verification. SEBT applications will be processed by the NDE; notice of approval or denial will be provided; and the SEBT application is not an application for SY2025-26 school meals program meal benefits.
3. How will households receive SEBT cards for eligible students in their household?
The cards will be issued by mail and will arrive in a plain, white envelope. Card issuance dates and expungement deadlines by which funds must be used are in the table below. The first card issuance of April 23rd will include those students listed on the district’s direct certification list. The second card issuance of May 15th will be students that live in the household of a student listed on the district's direct certification list. (Yes, families may receive more than one card). This student information will be submitted by school districts to the NDE. The remaining submission and issuance dates will be used for families that fill out the SEBT Application. ***UPDATE THE SEBT APPLICATION WILL CLOSE ON 08/15/2025.***
